Community Companion Home
Ability Beyond is proud to launch our Community Companion Home Model offering people the opportunity to live as part of a welcoming family in the community. We are seeking host families in Connecticut who are willing to offer a safe, nurturing home to a person placed in their care. The CCH model is a voluntary and inclusive alternative to traditional group homes, presenting a new addition to our continuum of residential services at Ability Beyond.
Providing a safe, supportive home for a person with a developmental and/or intellectual disability is a profound commitment—one that involves time, resources, and most importantly, heart!
For community members looking to open their homes and hearts, this model embraces all types of households—single adults, couples, single parent or two parent families, and empty nesters—and offers a matching process and ongoing support to ensure successful placements.
Offer Hope with the Certainty of Home
Shared living offers stability and inclusion, while host families can positively impact lives with support from Ability Beyond. We match individuals and families based on preferences and needs, then create a tailored support plan.
