Ticket to Work

Ability Beyond also assists individuals in reaching self-sufficiency through full-time work and going off of entitlements if that is their goal. As part of the Social Security Administration’s “Ticket to Work” Employment Network, we help people with disabilities achieve their individual employment goals.

  • Where do you get jobs for people? Do you have a job bank?
    Although Ability Beyond has many great ongoing relationships with employers, we are not a ‘job bank’. We work with each individual to pursue a job that is the right fit for them based on their goals and interests. We want to place people into the right position for him/her, not just any position that is available.
  • Who helps me to find my job? What are their skills?
    At Ability Beyond, our Employment Specialists are responsible for assisting individuals in their search for a new job or career. We take great pride in the professionalism and commitment of these individuals- at a minimum these are Bachelor Degree level staff and many have their Master’s. More importantly, many of them are Certified Employment Support Professionals and hold National Certificates in Employment Services.
  • Do I need funding?
    Yes! In order to qualify, you will need to obtain funding from at least one of the following: In Connecticut: • Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) • Board of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) • Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) • Department of Developmental Services (DDS) • BRS Employment Opportunities Program (EOP) • Private Pay • Ticket to Work • Various High Schools In New York: Adult Career and Continuing Ed Service (ACCES-VR) Various High Schools
