Danbury Hospital Partners with Ability Beyond to Provide Job Training

Margot Pratt, a Ridgefield High School graduate, says she loves coming to her job at Danbury Hospital every morning, helping with housekeeping and sanitation tasks on the upper floors.
“I like talking with the nurses,” said Pratt, 22, who also said she’s looking forward to a future job in the kitchen, where she hopes to “prepare food on the trays and bring it up to the patients.”
Pratt is one of four interns in a 10-month program called Project SEARCH, which provides career opportunities for young adults with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities or on the autism spectrum. The program is a partnership between Bethel-based Ability Beyond and Nuvance Health.
