A secure and welcoming home does more than meet a basic physical need for shelter. It goes beyond – serving as an anchor in a challenging world, providing protection, comfort and support.
Like all people, those we serve want nothing more than to be able to live their lives in the comfort of their home, surrounded by those who love and care for them. Our residential programs provide dignity, self-respect and the foundation for economic and social success.
Community Living Supports
Based on each individual’s level of need, our residential programs in Connecticut and New York provide up to 24 hours of support each day. These supports may include rehabilitation, nursing, behavioral support and direct supervision by staff, depending on the unique needs of each individual we serve. In addition, we provide residential supports for individuals who have co-occurring mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. As with all of our residential programs, our goal is to integrate people with disabilities into the fabric of our communities.
For those who may require more intensive care, we have specialized residences that provide enhanced medical care. We also are leaders in creating state of the art environments for those aging with disabilities, to address a rapidly growing part of our population.
For individuals who are able to live more independently, Ability Beyond offers support in individual homes and apartments. Our supported independent living services are offered for as long and as often as needed, with the flexibility required to meet a person’s changing needs over time. Throughout our residential programs, we are implementing the latest technology to enhance care and increase autonomy, empowering individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives.
The In-Home program at Ability Beyond is designed to meet the specialized needs of individuals within the setting of their own homes. Our highly qualified staff works with family and guardians to create personalized goals that support each individual in reaching their maximum level of independence.
