Employees Graduate from Pathways Training Program
After six months of training, a dozen employees took a significant step forward recently in their careers as Direct Support Professionals with Ability Beyond.
The employees graduated from our nationally recognized Pathways to Excellence program, one of the many training opportunities offered by Ability Beyond. This tremendously successful program provides our valued direct-care staff with a meaningful career path, along with increased pay and advanced training and certification.
Ability Beyond direct care employees have the opportunity to train to become Direct Support Professionals, and to then earn advanced certifications in specialty areas including aging, behavioral supports, medical supports, mental health, and mentoring and supervision.
“As Pathways graduates, you have chosen a great career in a growing industry,” Jane David, Ability Beyond’s Chief Executive Officer, said during the recent graduation ceremony.
Research shows that graduates from the program, many of which have recently begun their journey with the organization, are twice as likely to be employees with Ability Beyond seven years from now.
“What I’ve always found incredible about Ability Beyond is the tremendous opportunities to grow your own career, while also having a direct and positive impact on others,” Davis said.
Taking the Pathway to Success
Celin Mora said her first year at Ability Beyond has been such an amazing experience that she is looking forward to growing both personally and professionally through the organization.
“I just fell in love with the culture of the organization,” said the Pathways graduates. “They have some excellent programs, and I can put into practice tomorrow what I learned today. I know that whatever happens, I’ll be prepared.”
Mora said her next goal is to pursue her LPN certification.
Tori Iacoviello, another graduate of the program, said the training opportunities at Ability Beyond are the perfect companion to her studies at Post University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Services. Iacoviello has been working with Ability Beyond for about two years while attending college.
“They have so many opportunities for people who want to progress in their careers,” she said.
