Community Comes Together For 11th Annual Families Rock
Nearly 200 people came out to Dickinson Park this past Saturday to celebrate the 11th Annual Families Rock. The artists were jamming to everyone’s favorite tunes as families gathered to socialize and have fun.
Started by Board of Director member Steve Tracy and musician Jay Willie, the event has become an annual tradition that families and staff alike look forward to each year. People served by Ability Beyond’s residential programs also came down to enjoy the music and festivities.
“It always so great to see people come together, make new friends, reconnect with old friend, and most importantly, have a good time,” said Jane Davis, Ability Beyond’s Chief Executive Officer.
This year, the crowd was entertained by the Willie Portera Trio, The Surf, and, a new addition to the event this year was Split Decision, who rocked us into the evening hours with several encores. We hope they come again next year!
And of course, no Families Rock would be complete without free ice cream from Ice Cream Emergency, which was generously donated by Bedoukian Research. And of course there were gourmet hot dogs from Chez Lenard of Ridgefield.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make this happen. And see you all again next year!
