Ability Beyond Hosts Successful Tournaments in Westchester and Fairfield Counties

Ability Beyond recently hosted its Golf, Tennis and Pickleball Tournament – uniting the community for a fun-filled day of competitive play, generosity, and networking. More than 175 players across three sports made a meaningful impact by raising $150,000 for our programs that inspire joy, independence, and community inclusion for people with disabilities.

The tennis and pickleball tournaments, held at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, NY this year, were an expansion of our long-time successful annual golf and tennis tournament held at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT.

“Ability Beyond has long had a presence and robust services across New York, especially in Westchester, and I’m grateful to see such an outpouring of support from our community,” said Steve Finkelstein, Trustee and Tennis Chair.

Before hitting the courts at Brae Burn Country Club, players heard from and gave extensive praise to Leonardo, a young adult who found success through our Project SEARCH program at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester in Bronxville, NY. Golfers at Ridgewood Country Club heard from Deb, who Ability supports in its CT employment program and has had a resounding success at Wooster Hollow Cafe in Ridgefield.

Leonardo and Deb’s successful journeys through Ability’s employment services are a true testament to the value and talent workers with disabilities bring to America’s workplaces and economy.

Major sponsors of the event this year included Barclays, Graham Capital Management, Peter DiNardo Enterprises, R4 Capital for the Golf Tournament, and Brewster Subaru, Mt. Kisco Truck & Auto, and Westchester Modular Homes for the Tennis and Pickleball Tournaments.

Thank you to all sponsors, attendees, volunteers, and our event committee for making this event one for the books. The collective energy and generosity shown that day were unmatched, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
