Summer Fun during Annual Bristol Picnic
Scores of clients from residential programs throughout the Bristol area came together in Wolcott recently for the annual Bristol Picnic. Fun, food, games, good times and even holistic healing were available to all who attended.
The event is held annually as an opportunity clients of residential programs in the area to come together for fun, recreation and socialization. Ability Beyond operates 15 residential homes in the Bristol area serving more than 65 clients including those with developmental disabilities and Acquired Brain Injuries.
“The majority of those we serve are young adults in our transitional programs,” said Heidi Chelednik, the services director for the region. “They’re typically in the program for about two to three years . They receive care 24 hours a day, seven days a week while acquiring the skills they need to transition to more independent living.”
A representative from Tovio, based out of Hartford, also attended the picnic to provide holistic healing modalities through sound. The group regularly visits our residential and day programs in the Bristol areas to provide the services for our clients as part of their community initiatives.
