Happy Holidays and New Year!
Happy Holidays to our extended family from everyone at Ability Beyond. We are so incredibly thankful this year that community support has enabled us to serve individuals with disabilities for nearly 70 years. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to continue our mission to discover, build and celebrate the ability in everyone.
Recently, staff members and volunteers headed out to group homes throughout Connecticut and New York for both our annual Santa Parade and Operation Holiday Joy. Both events were filled with happiness, joy, smiles, hugs and love! We hope you and your loved ones have a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Your Support Makes Beyond Possible
Whether an individual with disabilities is just starting their journey, or nearing the end of their days, Ability Beyond is there to empower their abilities with skills for independence, employment and social engagement. And we couldn’t do it without the generosity of our supporters and the community.
It’s that support that allowed us to help Zach, one of our youngest clients, to achieve his dreams of having a job and “a life like everyone else.” Through utilizing a variety of our programs, Zach has been able to do just that.
As part of your end-of-year giving, please consider donating to Ability Beyond today so we can continue to make a real difference in the lives of people like Zach.
Creating a Sense of Belonging in the Workplace
Inclusion has been part of the very fabric of Ability Beyond since our founding nearly 70 years ago. But the past few years have taught us all that more needs to be done to create an environment where people are not only accepted, but feel a sense of belonging.
Nancy Di Dia, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Boehringer Ingelheim, is the first of several speakers invited by Ability Stronger to address diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) in the workplace. She has been leading diversity efforts with Boehringer Ingelheim for 16 years and is a sought-after expert in the field.
Ability Stronger is our agency’s initiative that works as the resource to ensure that all of our employees are able to bring their “whole selves” to work. Take some time to check out her inspirational discussion today.
