CT Non-Essential Visits Still Paused; Link for Tues. Sept 15th 7PM Family Update

Last night we spoke with public health officials in Danbury regarding the ongoing COVID spike in the greater Danbury area. Although it may be steadying off a bit, the greater Danbury Area precautions will remain in place for one more week for these reasons:
  • The greater Danbury area rate is still hovering at 5%-7% with a target of 1%
  • As an example, New Milford schools closed yesterday due to exposure
  • We here at Ability Beyond have seen an increase in testing of team members that has continued this week
  • The people we serve are twice as likely to contract COVID and 4 times more likely to die from it than the rest of the population, so we are being cautious.
We realize this is difficult for some families not to be able to bring their loved one home for a weekend or an outing, but all reports say the outside visits to our Ability Beyond homes are going well. The weather the coming weekend looks beautiful, and hopefully this will be the last week (no guarantees). As a community, the people we serve are handling things very well!
As we continue the pause on visits to family homes and nonessential community activities for those served in Danbury, Brookfield, Bethel, New Fairfield, Ridgefield, Newtown and New Milford, we greatly appreciate your patience and trust in us to keep your loved one safe.
We hope you will all join us for the now biweekly Family Zoom Call on Tuesday Night, Sept. 15th at 7:00 PM by using the link below.
