Ability Beyond, a leading nonprofit that provides services and programs to individuals with disabilities in Connecticut and Westchester, is pleased to announce that Jane Davis has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer.

A dedicated employee for over 30 years, Jane most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Ability Beyond. “There is no one better equipped than Jane to lead our organization in the coming years. Not only does she fully embrace the values or our organization, she is a forward-thinking leader who will respond to the challenges of the future with energy and creativity.” said current CEO Tom Fanning.

Since being appointed COO in 2010, Jane has led the organization through a tremendous period of growth, more than tripling the number of people supported. Jane has spearheaded projects that have improved quality of services delivered while enhancing efficiencies. She was chiefly responsible for helping Ability Beyond to be among the first organizations of its kind to implement technology and upgrade our client records systems to an electronic system. Jane has led efforts to research and develop best practice models for residential care for people with disabilities.

As Chief Operating Officer, Jane Davis has embodied a culture of continuous improvement promoting health and safety, appropriate risk management, commitment to quality services and achievement of organizational objectives. Jane also led the senior management team in establishing organizational objectives and quality improvement initiatives. “In all that she does, Jane is the true embodiment of what Ability Beyond represents: trust, compassion and excellence.” Said Greg Smith Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ability Beyond.

Jane has a Master’s Degree in Organization Leadership from Quinnipiac University, is a member of the Danbury Hospital Ethics Committee and is an Executive Council Member for the New York Alliance of Waiver TBI Providers.

“Being at the helm of Ability Beyond is such a great privilege. Tom’s leadership over the past 30 years has been nothing short of admirable and I look forward to continuing his legacy.” Says Jane. “We are in a very exciting time, filled with endless of possibilities for the people we support.” The simple fact is that much of our success is due to the generosity of our staff and the community we serve. I look forward to upholding the excellent reputation we have all worked so hard to create.”
